Memory loss presents a unique set of care challenges for both seniors and their families. Many family members discover that when the stress of daily care is removed, so is the tension, and loving relationships with their family can flourish. The 'Our House' Memory Care Communities ensconced in many of our assisted living communities provide a secure and healthy environment for residents with memory decline.
The cornerstone of 'Our House' is our staff. Prior to move-in, a professionally trained staff member visits your family to begin the discovery process. Reviewing the cognitive skills of each resident allows for the development of a customized program that provides the structure and support necessary to meet their individual needs. The 'Our House' caregivers receive ongoing training and we work with local Alzheimer's associations to provide up to date, informed care for our residents. Trust is an important aspect of a dementia care plan so we make every effort to pair residents with the same staff member. This allows them to build a relationship that will foster the resident's physical, emotional and social well-being. Care is personal, individual and constant. Each 'Our House' community is designed to optimize the personal attention given to each resident. We know memory triggers are critical for residents with memory loss so a place for family photos and mementos is provided outside each resident's door to help them identify their room. The uncomplicated layouts and secure design of our Memory Care floors encourage independence and self-exploration in a controlled environment. It's easy to make your way to the lounge to visit with other residents or to enjoy a walk among the flowers on our circular courtyard path. Each Memory Care Community is Guided by the “Our House” Principles Socialization – Group interaction encourages mutual interests and social growth Physical Stimulation – Exercise strengthens residents’ overall health Challenging Activities – Residents’ minds are challenged for better living Nutritional Program – Six small, well-balanced meals maximize daily nutrition Hydration Program – Addresses a common problem in the memory care community by encouraging residents to hydrate every two hours Pet Companion – Each community has at least one animal companion Caring for the Family Caregiver – We’re ready to answer questions and assist with family counseling Apartments:
